About these terms

These terms apply to your use of this website and to service requests you send through it. They do not replace any written contract or estimate you sign for actual work. Where a signed agreement and these terms disagree, the signed agreement wins.

What we do

Select Home Service LLC, trading as Select Home Services, is a licensed handyman and property maintenance contractor providing home repair, maintenance and property rehabilitation work for residential and light commercial property. We hold California contractor licence number 1072987, classifications B-2 and C-33, and we are bonded and insured.

Online booking and contacting us

Use the Workiz booking window to view the options it offers and follow the instructions shown there. Check the status and any confirmation shown by Workiz. If anything is unclear, call us to confirm the arrangements.

Using the website does not replace an estimate or contract for the work. Any appointment status should be checked in the booking window or directly with us.

Response times

We aim to respond quickly.

We do not guarantee any specific response time, arrival time or completion time. What we can offer depends on what else is already scheduled, how far away the property is, what the job turns out to involve once we can see it, and conditions we do not control.

Our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 5:30.

Estimates and quotes

Estimates are based on what can be seen and known at the time they are given.

Work of this kind regularly uncovers things that were not visible beforehand: damage behind a wall, a failure further along a line, or previous work that was not done properly. Where that happens we will tell you what we found and what it changes before doing additional work.

An estimate is not a fixed price unless it says so in writing.

Your responsibilities

When you request work, you confirm that you own the property or are authorised to arrange work on it, that the information you have given us is accurate, and that you will give us safe access to do the work.

Please tell us about anything on the property that affects safety. Knowing about it beforehand is better for everyone.

This website

The content of this site is provided for information. We work to keep it accurate and current, but we do not warrant that everything on it is complete or error free at all times.

You may not use this site to submit false requests, to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, or to submit automated or abusive requests.

What this website is, and what it is not

This website is provided as is and as available. We do not promise that it will always be reachable, that it will be free of errors, or that anything on it is fit for a particular purpose you have in mind. To the fullest extent California law allows, we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose in relation to this website and its content.

What is on these pages is a description of the kind of work we do. It is not an inspection of your property, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not advice to act on before we have seen the job. A page describing a repair is telling you that we do that sort of repair. It is not telling you that it is the right repair for what is happening at your address. Anyone who has opened a wall knows why that distinction is worth making.

This section is about the website. It is not about the work. What we promise for work we actually carry out is set out in the written contract or estimate you sign, and in the rules California applies to licensed contractors, which we cannot sign away here and are not trying to. Where those and this page disagree about the work, the contract and the law win.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by California law, our liability arising from your use of this website is limited to the amount you have paid us, if anything, for work arranged through it.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses arising from your use of this website.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here affects your rights in relation to work we actually carry out, which are governed by your contract with us and by California law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the courts of California.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date below shows when they last changed, and the version in force is the one published here at the time you use the site.
