This policy was drafted to describe accurately what this website actually does. It is not legal advice, and you should have an attorney review it before launch. California has specific requirements under the CCPA and CPRA that are worth checking against how you actually run the business.
Who we are
Select Home Service LLC, a licensed contractor based in Palmdale, California, trading as Select Home Services. This policy covers this website and the service requests you send through it.
For any privacy question or request, call 855-207-8828 or email [email protected].
What we collect
When you send a service request, we collect what you type into the form:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The service address, including unit, city, state and ZIP code, if you give it to us
- The type of work you need
- Your description of the problem
- A preferred date and time, if you choose one
- Whether you agreed to receive text messages about the request
Only your name, phone number, the type of work and a description are required. Everything else is optional, and the form works without it.
Automatically, when you submit the form, we record your IP address, your browser's user agent string, and the page you came from. This is used to detect automated abuse of the form and for nothing else.
We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or any third party tracking on this site. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not track you across other websites.
Why we collect it
To respond to your request, to arrange and carry out the work, and to contact you about it. That is the whole purpose.
The technical information described above is used to stop the form being abused by automated submissions.
Who else sees it
Workiz. This is the important one to understand. Select Home Service LLC runs its scheduling and job management on Workiz, a third party field service platform. When you send a service request, the details you submitted are transmitted to Workiz so the job appears in our system. Workiz processes this information on our behalf. Their own privacy terms apply to how they handle it as a platform.
Our email provider. A copy of your request is emailed to us, which means it passes through our email hosting.
Our web host. The website and its database run on hosting infrastructure operated by a third party, so your submission is stored on their servers.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or marketing companies. We do not disclose it to anyone else except where we are legally required to.
Text messages
If you tick the box agreeing to text messages, we record that you agreed and the exact wording you agreed to. Agreeing is optional and is not a condition of us doing work for you. You can withdraw it at any time by telling us, or by replying STOP to any message.
How long we keep it
We keep service request records until you ask us to delete them, or until we no longer need them to run the business and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.
We do not delete them automatically on a schedule. If you would like your record removed, call 855-207-8828 or email [email protected] and we will do it, and we will tell you when it is done. Some information may have to be kept where the law requires it, for example records that support a tax filing, and we will say so if that applies.
Calls to our business line
Calls to our business line may be recorded and transcribed, so that the details of your request are not lost between you calling and us getting to it.
If you would prefer not to be recorded, tell us at the start of the call and we will take your details another way, or you can call back during office hours. Recordings and transcripts are treated the same as everything else described on this page: they are used to respond to your enquiry, they are never sold or shared for advertising, and you can ask us to delete them.
Cookies
The cookies this site always sets are strictly necessary for it to work, and none of them track you. We do not use analytics, and we do not use advertising or marketing trackers.
The Cookie Policy names every cookie the site can set, says what each one does and how long it lasts, and marks the ones that only appear if you choose to load an embedded tool such as an online booking window. That list is generated from the site's own configuration rather than written by hand, so it cannot drift out of date. You can change your choices at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends either signal, we treat it as an instruction to switch off every non-essential cookie category, and we do not ask you again. Global Privacy Control is a recognised opt-out signal under California law. Do Not Track is not, and most websites ignore it. We honour it anyway, because there is nothing here that it would cost us to switch off.
Your rights in California
If you live in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with
- Get a copy of that information
- Have it deleted, subject to the records we are legally required to keep
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Limit how sensitive personal information is used
- Not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law, so there is nothing here for you to opt out of. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated and a clear opt out link will appear in the footer of every page before any such sharing begins.
We also honour the Global Privacy Control signal, and the Do Not Track signal, in the way described under Cookies above.
To make any request, call 855-207-8828 or email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity before acting, which usually means checking that you are the person who submitted the request in question.
Children
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Security
Traffic to this site is encrypted with HTTPS. Access to service request records is limited to people who need it to do the work. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date below. If the change is significant, particularly if we ever begin using analytics or advertising tools, we will ask for your cookie choices again rather than relying on consent you gave under different circumstances.
